The Dyesub Keycap Process
Dye-sublimation (commonly called dyesub) is a process of keycap legend printing that uses heat to embed a dye into the colored keycap. This manual process results in exceptionally durable legends. When the legend is a lighter color than the keycap base, a process called reverse dye-sublimation is used. In reverse dyesub, the entire keycap except the legend is dyed, leaving the legend as the same color as the keycap base. This is much more complicated and expensive to produce when compared to regular dyesub.
