Received these in the mystery box(a great deal). Not sure how I'm going to use these. Getting a zoom tkl in Sky blue lol. Most likely going to use the burgundy and white accents(not sure since I can't look at it on the board yet). They are beautiful key caps and the quality is superb.
Why is every site asking for a review <1 mo after shipping. You know damn well we're all still waiting for GB parts to ship.
But yea they feel nice, mild warping on the space bar (1/3mm) not really noticeable.
They'd be better on my Class 80 when it gets here...
I'll preface this review by saying my primary reason for buying this set, was to use the Burgundy keycaps to blend with another NicePBT set here on CannonKeys, Shinbun.
As an owner of several NicePBT keycap sets, I can HIGHLY recommend them. I'm SUPER picky about my keycap sets, and I keep coming back for more here. The reason this review isn't 5 stars, is for one reason only; I feel that the black text font on the alphas was not the way to go here. If they had gone with the dark red used for the mods, I feel this set would be MARKEDLY better. Photos of the set, as with pretty much all of these sets, is pretty much a bang-on representation of how they look in person. The Burgundy is very nice on these, with only slight softness/blurring of the text on the mods (eg. 'Control', 'Alt', etc.). NicePBT keycaps are among the heavier/thicker of PBT I've used to date, so these will mute your overall sound a bit, compared to lighter weight caps. Again, don't let my personal thoughts dissuade you from buying these. The quality, kitting, and fonts are top notch.
The great thing about having several different sets in your collection, is you can start 'blending' them for totally new looks. I look forward to new releases in the future, and it's fantastic to have options like this available in our hobby. Thanks CannonKeys!
It's awesome to see folks mix and match keycap sets from our in-stock offerings. We haven't designed our keycap sets intentionally to be mixed together, but we bet Shinbun plus Grey Burgundy looks really nice!
Rather than the keycaps being burgundy plastic the caps are painted. Colors not as good as I hoped it would be. They’re fine but seem to be lower quality than other NicePBT caps I own.
Thank you for the feedback. Sorry to hear you're unhappy with these keycaps. NicePBT Grey Burgundy, like the majority of our other NicePBT and CannonCaps key sets, uses reverse dye sublimation. This process uses dye to color the keycaps- no paint is used.
I wanted to love these, but they just have too many shortcomings, and I really hate leaving bad reviews but these are just so disappointing. First, really bad color shift on the red keycaps. I've seen cleaner dyesub for half the price from noname clone factories. Second, the grey felt off, so much so that I actually switched all the grey keys for the black on grey cannon keys caps, because they are truly grey, the grey in this has a weird tint. IMHO, these aren't worth the price, and really don't feel up to par with normal CK quality. Luckily Sweater Weather is much better!
