pretty decent entry level kit. I had fun messing and modding it. its really easy for layers to attract dust/hair, specially showing with clear kit

Good Build to Practice Soldering

With the growing popularity of hotswap PCB being offered, it seems like soldering your own switches is being phased out.

However if you ever wanted to dive into soldering your own switches, this set is a good place to start.

I picked up the Stacked60 clear acrylic. It's relatively simple to put together, you're just stacking plates. You will need your own switches, keycaps, and stabilizers, soldering iron, etc. which is added costs, so consider that as well. It does look cool when it's finished and it does have a nice satisfying clacking sound when using linear switches.

With the positives out of the way, I did come across some issues and just some things that were a bit frustrating.

1. The plates have a protective covering on them, and removing the protecting covering on the plates was a lot more difficult than I was expecting it to be. Make sure you have long fingernails, or you will struggle. And even if you do have long fingernails, expect your fingers to be raw after peeling off so much of it.
2. One of my standoffs was already stripped when I got it, and there were no extras to replace it.

Check out my video for reference.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us regarding the Stacked60 Keyboard Kit. The film on the plates is there to ensure they don't get scratched during shipment but we understand that peeling off all that film at once can be difficult.
