Bakeneko65

Now available as a pre-built keyboard

Our version of the Bakeneko65 features a few key changes from kkatano's original design: We closed the bottom holes, added cutouts to the plate (to allow for assembly removal), and modified the case to be made using a casting process. We also designed our own hotswap and solder PCBs with multi layout support.

Just add keycaps and switches for a complete build, or opt to have our experienced team build one for you!

Budget Price, Endgame Feel

Originally designed by kkatano, the Bakeneko65 is an open-source keyboard featuring an o-ring gasket. An o-ring between the plate and PCB provides friction to hold the plate/PCB assembly in the one-piece case. Cutouts on the PCB allow the o-ring to rest on the mounting points built into the case. The result is a bouncy typing feel with a great sound profile

Quality Disclaimer

In order to allow us a quicker cadence of restocks and keep the price low, our Bakeneko60 uses a casting process. Please reference the quality guide below on what you can expect for surface finish quality with the Bakeneko60.

Great Board!

I bought this board for a commissioned build and I loved the way it turned out! Was a nice clacky and poppy sound, so on the higher end of the spectrum, which isn’t usually my favorite, but I actually really liked this board. It was super easy to build, and I love that they include a cloth and carrying case with the board!

Incredible

This is my first experience with a custom board and it's blown all my prebuilts out of the water. I've gone from Razor -> Ducky -> Leopold, each feeling like a better typing experience, albeit they felt like small steps, but this? This is in a whole other tier entirely and feels unfair to even compare. I grabbed an NG Black Bakeneko65 along with an accessories bundle of essential items for build and some Gateron Baby Raccoons for the switches. Having never done anything like this before, I'd say assembly was pretty easy although lubing stabs for the first time made me a bit anxious. Nonetheless, when I was done it was pretty clear right off the bat that this was just so much better than I was used to.

The way this board is and its mounting system gives me zero of the metallic ping I could hear from the other boards I had, and the sound of the switches is accentuated in a really nice way, a full sounding gentle clack without any hollowness to my ear, just really bringing out the best in these switches.

The board is hefty, solid and feels well made, the NG finish being very uniform and I could not tell of any imperfections whatsoever. This board also comes with a badass heavy duty traveling case with velcro straps inside as well as a huge microfiber cloth to wrap the board in. Really grateful for this because I travel between locations during the week and it's just so incredibly nice and convenient for the money you spend here.

Very impressed with Cannon Keys here, and would definitely buy from them again, which may be soon, definitely eyeing that Esper keycap set, and will need a different board for that ^_^

Big Disappoint - Better Options for 1/2 the Price

After two years of modding brands like RK, Epomaker, Yunzii, GMK, and Keychron. I saved up to buy my first decent kit.

Pros:
*Purchased the Steel Blue color - it's gorgeous.
*Nice layout

Cons:
*Complete build is clacktastic, which I'm not a fan of, and in a sound test you could never tell the difference between a GMK67 for $69 and this board. I bought Neopolitans, Quinns, and Baby Kangaroos, even tried it with some Oil Kings. I could not lower the pitch of this board.

For reference, my favorite sound profile comes from the Keychron. Stock low-pitched and bassy.
