This new batch of Gateron Cap V2 switches use a newer mold that reduces stem wobble, while still using the unique hollow stem and long spring from the V1.

If you need a budget switch, this is the one for you. Super smooth and amazing sound index for the price point.

Most comparable switches are MINIMUM twice the cost, if not three times the cost, and generally are not even remotely twice as good. This is my go to for almost every board. If you like linears and want an easy, out of the box switch you can just pop into any board this is the one for you.

Best Budget Switch

I got these switches for my bakeneko60 to keep the build cheap and these are amazing, even stock. I am still breaking these in but I bet these will be even better lubed with 205g0.

Incredible for the price

This switch feels great right out of the box. Even before lubing, the switch is incredibly smooth and sounds great. After lubing, the switch's smoothness and sound rivals that of top tier linears. This is definitely the no.1 linear switch for people looking to get into the keyboard building hobby.
